All Ireland Car Hire

This weekend sees one of the biggest sporting events of the year taking place in Dublin. Gaelic games are unique to Ireland with two codes – Hurling and Football. Both championships began back in May with the Hurling final taking place this weekend between old rivals Kilkenny and Tipperary.

Kilkenny have been the strongest side in hurling for a good few years now with Tipperary having a proud history though finding All Ireland success hard to come by in recent years. It promises to be a superb game on Sunday with tickets at a premium.

If you are travelling from outside the country and arriving in Dublin then you may be interested in Hiring a car at Dublin Airport. We have some extremely cheap car hire deals available this weekend so get searching today if you require a car.

Perhaps you want to make a weekend of it and visit some other places or relatives outside Dublin. Hiring a car will most likely work out cheaper than public transport if this is the case.

Electric Picnic Car Hire

The Electric Picnic Festival takes place in Stradbally C.O Laois this weekend. Acts include the legendary Brian Wilson as well as the Flaming Lips, Madness, Bell X1 and hundreds more acts.

There are rumours that this may be the last year of Ireland’s favourite boutique festival. The event caters for thirty two and a half thousand fans with tickets believed to be getting close to sold out. It is a three day event with music beginning Friday evening and ending Sunday night.

Camping facilities are available as well as a small number of campervans. If you are arriving into Dublin Airport then it should take about an hour and a half to reach the concert by road. You may wish to consider a Dublin Airport car hire for the weekend with prices beginning at a measly £40.06. Buses are available at twenty eight euro per person so as you can see hiring a car actually works out to be really good value.

Hopefully the weather won’t be too bad but this is Ireland so prepare well and pack the wellies and raincoats.

Dublin Airport Experiences Warmest August in 5 Years

Really? Well you could have fooled me but according to a recent report by Met Eireann, this August was the warmest on record at Dublin Airport since 2004. Dublin and its surrounding regions fared considerably better weather wise than many other Irish locations this year with some locations such as Valentia in Kerry breaking rainfall records since documenting first begun.

The midlands did not fare much better with Mullingar having it wettest summer in sixty years. Strangely the majority of places in Ireland actually had more hours of sunshine than usual this summer despite the generally wet conditions. June saw some superb weather in Ireland this year which certainly helped boost sunshine figures.

Those hoping for better conditions in September will be disappointed according to weather forecasters. More wind and rain is expected which will be unwelcome news for those traveling to the all Ireland final in Dublin this weekend as well as those attending the Electric Picnic music festival.
